This is our first meeting where we will be in a location (we are looking at a couple of different locations right now) where we can have room to set up our various projects. We will ensure that there are electrical outlets for sewing machines, glue guns, heat guns, soldering irons, or whatever electrical tool you need for your project.

We are going to begin by highlighting a project, and then we will take a couple of minutes to have someone demonstrate a skill that they have. Within our group, there will be somebody to demonstrate and teach a craft that you have been wanting to know more about! We are a very creative bunch, with many different skills and skill levels. We even have one who claims that she doesn't know how to do anything! We know better, don't we. She just hasn't found it yet. We'll find it for her, I'm sure.

Our last meeting was one where we organized and discussed what kind of group we wanted to create. We are always open to new ideas. Here are a few of the things we determined at the last meeting, and by no means are all of these things set in stone. We have no "leader", just an organizer who will maintain the web site and assist with the planning of events.

  • We will meet every SECOND THURSDAY of the month.
(This one is pretty much the only one that is "set in stone". We had to nail down a regular time and day to have a successful group.)

  • We are going to rotate locations until we have an established group, and then we might find a regular, FREE, venue that works best for everyone.

  • We will take turns "hosting" the meeting when it comes to refreshments, finding someone to demonstrate a skill, and highlight a craft.

  • We will plan an annual retreat! (This event won't be free, but it will be fun!)

  • We will plan an occasional service project.

  • We will list our meetings in the Post Record and the Columbian.

  • We talked about sharing extra supplies that we all have on hand (You know, you see a project that is really cool, buy all the stuff to do it, and then decide that it really wasn't the craft for you. Now you have shelves, cupboards and closets full of craft supplies, hoping that you will eventually find another project you can use them with. Oh, if our husbands only knew.)

  • As the group decides, we will have group classes on projects.

  • We can carpool to different events, such as the Quilt Show in Sisters, Oregon, etc.

  • We will always be open to new ideas from the group.

We look forward to our next meeting, where we have more crafters, more laughers, and lots more fun.

Jocelyn will be putting photos of the projects shared at our last gathering.

We look forward to seeing you on January 10th!

    •  As each month comes, we get more people to join us, and we have really been able to get to know each other a bit more. We welcome Stacy and I have already gone out and got a couple of supplies to try to mimic her unique journaling. She will have to show you! It is a great way to bring out your inner child!
    •  I love these nights. Our group is still small, but I've already met two new great people. Sharing ideas and craft experiences with other crafters really gives additional insight and some do's and don'ts that help.
